A MULTI-FUNCTIONAL HOME FOR A TIGHT-KNIT COMMUNITY DRIVEN TEAM. 
 

THE BRIEF

After more than 15 years untouched, STAR 104.5’s workplace needed a reset — a functional, flexible, and welcoming space that would better reflect the brand’s local roots, connected culture, and relaxed energy.

The vision? Create a collaborative, personality-filled environment that supports the way this team works — and gives them a reason to want to come in.

THE APPROACH

We led the design and delivery of a bright, multifunctional space that’s as easy going as it is energising.

Drawing on the surrounding natural landscape, we introduced a cohesive palette of timber, warm neutrals, and softer finishes, layered with expressive details to bring in a sense of play and pride. Layouts were opened up to improve flow and foster team connection, while keeping functionality front and centre: 

• Expansive windows and natural light were maximised to lift mood and energy

• Custom joinery and zoning supported diverse workstyles — from studio to solo

• Brand identity and culture cues were woven through the design for instant familiarity

• Construction was staged and sensitive, with operations maintained throughout

THE CHALLENGE

Working around a live broadcast environment meant timing, noise control, and flexibility had to be built into every step. The fitout needed to support operations, not disrupt them — and the pressure was on to deliver a space the team would truly love.

A warm, well-zoned, and deeply functional studio space that the STAR 104.5 team is proud to call home. More than just a makeover — this is a cultural reset.
